While perusing the classified ads this morning for a job, I saw that Tei Kei's is hiring for the Jenks location. It specifically mentioned in the ad that it is going in where Tsunami was. Hopefully this Tei Kei 2 is more successful than the one in Owasso since it closed!!
Opening in Jenks and the BOK Center. Good month for Tei Kei's.
Whatever happened to that Riverwalk Crossing? I read a couple of write-ups in the Tulsa World that said they were building a Phase II, but nothing has ever come of it.
There was an article in the Tulsa World yesterday stating funding hold ups could be resolved within the month.

As its an "Asian" restaurant it has never been billed as "authentic" Chinese food, it is a nice fairly quite place that has darn good food. Well the original does anyway, it may not be moms favorite Chinese take out but who says it has to be to have good food?
It is also a great place for first timers to sushi, which again might not be "authentic" but its closer then Sushi train, and a little more friendly then In the Raw.
But as they say to each there own.
Gag me. TeKei's is HORRIBLE. I used to like it OK, but I went to the original location a month ago for the first time in over a year, and suddenly remembered why I had quit going. Food served cold, "crispy" chicken that would break your tooth, and bland bland bland. Never going back. The restaurant was empty, too. I'm shocked they are willing another or able to fund another location.
They have great bread pudding....even their bread pudding at the BOK Center is excellent.
I have never got cold or hard food, did you send it back when it didn't come out hot? Did you talk to the manager or ask if the owners where in? Todd Kramer, is always very helpful any time we have ever had a problem.
It is almost always packed for lunch and weekend evening 90% of the time. I never went to where second location when it was in Owasso.

SO are they Chinese when they make an egg roll and "asian" the rest of the time?
it is actually a shame Tsunami bit it on the riverwalk, but bad management will do that to you. their open air area with the japanese film on the wall was a cool touch.
Hold your breath. The last time he started ground breaking for phase 2. Then the River got a bit too high and started eroding the shoreline and collapsed a wall.

That's a tough spot anyway. There's very little lunch business, and that's what can keep a place like that afloat.
Plus, not offering sushi from the start was a mistake.

Enjoy your pig knuckles, bro. I spent time in Taipei and Hong Kong and believe me, authentic Chinese ain't something that would sell over here.

That's the truth. I doubt dog/cat meat kabobs or rat stir fry would pack 'em in here. Didn't the Chinese government order restaurants and food stalls to quit selling dog meat during the Olympics?
Upon learning that Tei Kei's was being run by a bunch of ex-Mazzio staffers the quality of food was no longer in question. I will say that when it comes to ambiance Tei Kei's is awesome although food quality honestly not the best.

I have too, and that is Taiwanese and Cantonese cuisine respectively.
There was a good reason it closed in Owasso. The food was absolutely horrible and over priced. I like Tei Kei, but 2 was nowhere near as good.
