Title: Best Traditional Barber Shop?

Where is your favorite "tradtional" barber shop?

Chains, franchises, etc dont count.  We're talking Floyd from Mayberry here.

There is one just east of 31st and Memorial. I believe it is called "The Barber Shop". I've been there a couple of times, and my dad goes all the time.

Yeah, I think that is the name of it. Alot of cops in Tulsa go there. There are three barbers in there. Younger guys go to Dean and older guys go to Archie.  The third guy (I forgot his name) gets the ones that don't want to wait.

Go over to see Dennis Ledbetter in Jenks. Plain old barber shop, nothing fancy. Thinks he's at $8.00 now. Heck of a nice guy, been around for years. Only works 3-4 days a week, though.

Shop is on N 6th St, between Main St, and A St, just as you enter Jenks. Last phone I have for him is 812-5936.

My son and I have been longtime patrons of Rooster's Barber Shop on Apache Street just south of downtown Jenks. He only works a few days a week, too, but gives good haircuts when you can find him there. Nice guy.

Art's Prattville Barber Shop in South Sand Springs. Great haircuts. Art plays the fiddle and sometimes has other musicians sit in during slow periods and have a jam session.

My favorite was the Hilltop Barber @ 21st just east of Sheridan but the owner (Jack) has retired and a new person has taken over.

The best of the rest is:
Jim Blue Barber Shop
943 S Pittsburg Ave. Tulsa, OK. (918) 838-9133

This place is a step in time.

The amazing thing about this barber shop is that it opens at 6 in the morning.  Many a time I've had a haircut at 7:15.  Quality old-school barbers.

Jim Blue's barber shop just north of 11th on Pittsbugh is also an excellent choice.
