Title: Napoli's in Owasso
Post by: Rex on July 15, 2008, 12:08:39 AM
Great food! The owners are not Italian, I think they are Albanians.

What happened to Abruzzi's?

Also, who is the Admin that knows Italian and snipped my name in half?

Napoli's does have awesome food.  The waitress has told us they were an Italian family.  Even showed us the picture on the wall.  Perhaps she was just assuming.

Yea for Napoli's.  Big Italian chains be damned...GO to the little business man.

The Napoli's in Broken Arrow is also fantastic. A lot of food for the price and very good. It is just really kind of in a bad spot location wise. Right next to Love a Pet and it is more long than it is wide. It just looks small from the front. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

Napoli's restaurant brings taste of Italy to Owasso

In the kitchen at Napoli's Italian Restaurant in Owasso, Italian -- not English -- is the first language.

Besim Arifi and his cousin Giovanni Elezi own the Owasso restaurant, the sixth in northeast Oklahoma.

Five other cousins also work at the establishment.

The family comes from Napoli, Italy, located along the west coast of Italy south of Rome. Napoli's opened in Owasso in late July...

Well, I have been wrong before!  When I spoke some Italian (granted bad Italian) and the guy in Owasso responded (in Italian better than mine), he said he was Albanian.

Besim Arifi doesn't sound like an Italian name, but he is probably Italian just of a different ethnic extraction originally.  Like we are Americans, but of different backgrounds.

Sorry, my Belgian Bud is getting me.

Hey Rex, I didn't mean to sound like I was calling you on it, I'd just remembered reading the article in the past! :)

I didn't take it as you calling me out[:D]

It is a great place no matter what their background!

It's just a lot Italian people here like to complain about Italian restaurants.
