Title: Thank You Mr. Kaiser!
Post by: Conan71 on September 04, 2008, 01:20:44 pm
I did not want this wonderful announcement to be lost amongst everything else going on.  This is great news and Mr. Kaiser is putting his money on a wise mission:

National Energy Policy Institute

http://www.tulsaworld.com/business/article.aspx?articleID=20080904_49_A1_hOilma48633

Funded by $8 million gift from George Kaiser Family Foundation

Teaming with Washington, D.C.-based Resources for the Future and contracting with energy experts

Anthology report of market driven alternative solutions due by fall 2009

Headed up by native Tulsan and former Alaska Gov. Tony Knowles

Long-term goal is to convince politicians, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and consumers that a sea change in energy policy is critical to American security

One can only hope this might result in Tulsa becoming an alt energy Mecca.  Hopefully it is not too late to attract C-P's alt fuel research to this area.
