I think it is a worthy holiday for us to celebrate.
We used to throw a big Groundhog's Day party each year. At midnight, we would go out and stand under a streetlight. If we saw our shadow, we would go back inside and drink for six more weeks.
Bad news six more weeks of this cold crap. The stupid thing saw his shadow. It feels like this winter will never end. Michigan broke it's record for snowfall in 2008. A record held from 1888. Ohio & Michigan also had one of the coldest winters on record. Hard to believe some people still believe in the global warming hoax! [xx(] Blah!

You still don't get it, do you.
Back to the groundhog conversation...
I think it is important to use the whole hog. Last night we even played with a pigskin.

I believe that is a great new tradition I shall partake in.
I'll be watching "Groundhog Day" tonight.
My daughter turned 19 today. I called to wish her a happy Groundhog day this morning.
"Groundhog Day" was actually filmed in Punxsutawney. It's a lovely small town - with a trout stream right through the middle. I've been there twice.
It's hardly any surprise that Phil saw his shadow. Remember, Punxy is Steeler country, so the bars were full of people watching the Super Bowl yesterday. And they stay open all night for Groundhog Day. If I were Phil, surrounded by a crowd of drunk, partying people at dawn on a cold winter morning, I'd want to crawl back down into my burrow too.

Only if Andie McDowell remained in the burrow with me day after day....wait a minute!
