never thought i would see the day, but bill maher is coming to town. should be entertaining.
I think he's a little too fond of himself. Saving my pennies for DMB & Willie!
Oh boy! Can't wait to miss it.
RIGHT ON. I'm so there. Loved "Religulous" and love his show.
I liked Politically Incorrect when it was on Comedy Central, since it left that channel it became less worth watching, even under it's current name. For me, it's the sign of a bad comedian when you make fun of everyone else but still take yourself seriously (ahem. Al Franken). Granted, still having a show after being nixed by three networks is impressive.
I would see Colbert, maybe Jon Stewart, but not Maher.
Reading the comments at the World's site about this is amusing. Apparently 'left of center' really means 'disagrees with me' to some of those folks.
Real Time's amusement factor is very largely dependent on who the guests are. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's just booorrring.

Agreed, its all about the guests. Bill Maher annoys the hell out of me, but I like the show alright.

I think he's usually funny, but not enough to carry the show by himself.
He does have a bad habit of beating up on retards, though. That's what Religulous seemed like to me. Funny, but far too much pressing the issue rather than just giving rope to the people who seemed to be happy to hang themselves.
Why bother. I will save my money for Taylor Swift.
