Title: Manchesters
Post by: FOTD on May 19, 2009, 04:52:51 PM
Interesting....Conan, let me know how far $500 private membership goes.....

Bally's old space in of all places Manchester Square. But the name seems to be derived from Man Chesters...Crystal, don't think this works for Tulsa. Wait and see.

Go figure....

$500 VIP membership to a club with 4 venues next to a strip mall with a TJ Maxx? Yeah, right, that'll last. I give it a year tops.

That year is pretty generous.  Sounds like an Indian casino without the games (i.e. the casino).  I went to a place like this once . . . where they had musical acts near a bunch of restaurant options.  It was called the Promenade Mall food court.

LMAO @ the TJ Maxx reference.

I'm not certain what makes a club "Vegas style."  $300 or greater bottle service?  That will never fly in Tulsa.  Why would you pay extra to go to a sports bar when there are several others in town?

Now, the one exception to this analysis is if they change it to a "Vegas Style Strip Club."  At which point, I give it an even chance of making it if they include the talent from the video.  Though, if that's the plan, they might want to change the name from "Manchesters."

Someone tried a multi club concept in the old Spectrum Theater at 69th & Lewis about 10-15 years ago.  I think it made it maybe 6 months.

I remember that. I went to the comedy club (Being generous) and found that the headliner wasn't even funny enough to be an opener any where else.

To me Vegas style would be something like they have at Wynn/Encore or one of the newer casinos in Vegas. But the prices in those places are crazy to insane. They have tried upscale in that area for years and it just doesn't work. Back in the mid 80's there was a place called Peabody's at Eaton Square and then another upscale club by the old Service Merchandise location at Woodland, and In Cahoots at Fontana. I know none of these were resteraunts but they were over priced yuppie places then. I'd be willing to be that the lowest priced entree' at Spark Steak House will be $25.00 or higher.

I read a story about this place in the Urban Tulsa today.  I think it will make it because they have the restaurant and sports bar in addition to the nightclub and piano bar.  So if one part is not doing as well the others can sustain it.  Everytime I go to a sportsbar on a night of an OU game or UFC fight I have to get there at least 2 or 3 hours early or there are no seats.  So I definately think we need more of them.  Also they want to atract national bands like ZZ Top and Maroon 5 for live entertainment.  It also boasts the largest dance floor in the midwest.  This is my kind of place.  I don't think I will go for the $500 VIP pass though.

1)This demon NEVA reads the garbage in UTW....it can be hateful and vindictive. So, whatever...
2) Tulsa is NOT Dallas, Alice. What happens here does not stay here either...
3) $500 and you get what kind of privileges?

This place might just be for those with Osteopornosis...
