Even though this is a reduction, wouldn't the same rule apply?
In this case, the Original Contract Amount is $3,073,989.00 25% would be $768,497.25 ....weeeugh, just under the wire. Their $728,022.50 comes in at 23.68% But, shown as 0% on the documents (presumably due to it being negative). Interesting, wonder why that differs form the State Competitive Bidding Act. also typically the change order limit is only on additive changes. (It certainly torpedoed the value of recyclable materials...wouldn't it have a similar effect on building materials?)
On the other hand, I also heard that we got fed stimulus money to help pay for the Boulder Bridge. (Which is good b/c the initial 3rd penny sales tax allotment was about half of that required to demo and rebuild the bridge.) As demand started to slow drastically for plate steel last year, the mills screeched production way, way down and kept the price inflated as long as they could. They had unprecidented increases in price for the prior year or so. We are finally starting to see some of the engineered/manufactured equipment systems prices coming down, but it has lagged way behind the drop in scrap price. |
