Title: Camera repair?
Post by: Ed W on October 02, 2009, 09:37:16 PM
Does anyone have advice for camera repair service?  I have a stuck leaf shutter in an old Voigtlander and a sticky diaphragm in a 50mm lens.  Repairs may be more than the Voigtlander is worth, but the 50mm lens is kind of expensive.

Aperture's at 21st & Harvard.  They are everything camera and film-related, so I would assume they can do camera repair or would know where you can get that done.

Wow~ I could use that advice too since I have a 1981 Pentex camera and the electronic expousure thing does not work and taking pictures without it makes them look real dark. It was real good camera when new it made real clear pictures it came with a standard 50mm lens and was great for low light, it took pictures lit only by birthday cakes and Christmas trees and even street lights on 35mm film. The camera had a 3 color expousure meter inside the viewfinder and it set the shutter speed acording to that- the "red" light means it's too brite and needs a smaller F-stop, the "yellow" means it's too dark and needs adjustment and the "green" means it's ok to click. The camera shops I went to said it was not worth fixing or it can't be fixed since the parts are not made anymore.  :-\

Who makes Pentex cameras?  Is that some cheap knockoff of Pentax cameras?
