Title: Christmas Presents
Post by: custosnox on December 27, 2009, 07:10:04 pm
Christmas is about two things, giving, and bragging about what you received.  So in the spirit, I want to what anyone got that is worth bragging about.  It was a slim year here and not a lot went around.  But, my present that I got is something that is so simple, but still has me smiling lol.  It's a three book set called Tulsa Times, A Pictorial History.  I haven't even opened the Lost Symbol that I've been waiting to get my hands on because I've been too busy flipping through the pages of this.  If you come across this, I would highly recommend it for any Tulsa history lover.

that wouldn't be that set of three books from the World would it?  I received that gift about 15 years ago from my maternal grandmother and still treasure it to this day.  There are a lot of photos in it from the Beryl Ford Collection.  I think the only place that still sells it is the World and possibly Steve's Sundries.

I got a new Lexus GS 460, 3GS I-phone, and 2 flat screen televisions. But by all means enjoy that book thingy.

Just kidding about it all. I am not a Tulsa history lover (even though I got a minor in history), but these books would definitely be worth the investment.

Those would be the very ones.  I've really been diving into Tulsa History lately, so this really hit the spot for me.  I'm in history heaven lol.

I recieved many useful things from family and friends.  But by far, the best gift of all was waking up on Christmas morning and fixing my two daughters breakfast in my new house.

Oh, and Tulsa Times? Probably the best compendium of Tulsa photos I've seen in print. I too got that as a Christmas gift whatever year it was that the set came out.
