Noticed today that Casa Bonita had a sign on the door indicating that they are "closed for business".
Bad food plus bad service plus overpricing equals EPIC FAIL!

Don't forget dirty and in poor repair
So where do we go now for Velveta enchiladas?
No great loss. Looks like out of towners will have to go elsewhere for crappy food in a dingy environment.
I'm sure it was the sluggish economy and our archaic liquor laws what did them in.

Another joint that seemed to be seemed better only through passage of time and the hazy fog of memory. Perhaps its time to stop trying to revive this relic of an era when quality authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food were not readily available all over the city.

You need more Diversity training. We have it at least once a year at work.
Diversity is good. Diversity is good...... (Repeat frequently. Kind of like, "It's only a movie.")
Just finished diversity training about 3 weeks ago. Enlightening.
Gaspar,
Take that velveeta and add some Rotel. Melt slowly.
Can always get something good out of something bleh. Add spray cheese to a cracker, close your eyes to eat, and it almost tastes like a cracker and cheese.

Unfortunately I am one of those people that will miss this place. I only hope I can get in when they sell stuff off, I want a flag. If I can get some of the plates then I can put a TV dinner on it and recreate the whole experience.
I used to like taking the kids there, but the last couple of times we went service was bad, the place was dirty, the food was even worse than in the past (and that's saying something) and the prices were up. Worst of all half the machines in the arcade were not even on/working and while the machines that were on were giving out tickets, they didn't have any prizes to spend the tickets on. That's just a complete fail for a "family" place.
It just reeked of management not giving a crap.

Are you expecting Mrs. G to come running with sopapillas when you raise the flag? Good luck with that.

I use that as my safety word.
Emphasize third syllable?
I went a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised by the food & staff that were all friendly and the food was actually very good! Me an a buddy went just for the hell of it and left thinking that we would be going back a few times a year! Guess not anymore!
I just can't imagine the overhead that place has though....

Methinks you need some euphemism training (and I apparently need some humor training)

Your home interior is that of fake caves? (I'm assuming they still had that going on, been many of years since I've been in there)
Someone have been working in there again.
Had the display lights on the other night, and doors were open and crews were inside again today, but it didnt look like demolition.

I went right in front of the restaurant about two weeks ago and it looked like someone was inside doing something, and a couple walked up to the door and checked it because it looked like they were open.

Had to go so bad you couldn't make it to the restroom at McDonald's?
I don't think it'll matter a damn what someone does to this place until the whole area is cleaned up.
In this case the surroundings would scare just about anyone off.

OK....let's play a game. Predict when they will close down. This is hard because Fusion should be long gone but they're still open. My guess is this venue must have more food sales than lickher.
I will make a stab at a Jan.1, 2014 closing without any idea of the tenants' credit worthiness....
Just a blind guess. . .they will close in August after complaints, shootings, illegal drug activity, or a other problems. There will be pending law-suits that will keep the property from being reutilized for 2 years after.
Gaaawwwwwdddddd!! What a joke!
My scorn and disdain for that concept may mean they have just the idea that may be a success. I'm sure everyone remembers that biker bar on 15th, east of Lewis called "Snake Pit"? Even they had a clientele - went there myself from time to time....
I've been informed it's to be a country bar.

Even better! Gilleys, Tulsa!
Maybe they could get some Gilleys mugs! He's got a lot of them left over. Contact the American Pickers guys - they bought a couple cases recently.

My parents frequented Gilley's in Houston in the early 80's. My mother enjoyed the musical stylings. I believe my father was being nice.
Apparently I missed my opportunity for a flag:

Can this guy even put together a sentence...I think he has big dreams..and a lack of conversational skills.
"It's like going, if you're going out to Hard Rock, you're going to be going to the club Fusion, nice dance club, but then you'll notice if you want to go over here to a blues room, where you can hear blues, so you got a lot of different atmospheres here,"
Club Fusion has been around THIS WEEK for 7 years,(I am friends with the owners, but I don't really go there) why, because the owners have brains, they know how to run a bar/club, AS A BUSINESS. Its a good thing for a few reason, gives people a place to go that is safe, the owners don't putup with BS and they have a great working relationship with the Tulsa PD.
I can't remember another club that has been around for 7 years. Sure they cater to the more urban crowd than the "white people" but it works! Plus I am sure they have massively less overhead than this "casa bonita club" will have. It will be interesting to see how long this place last's.
They could turn it into a gentleman's club. Those seem to do well and display longevity in that area.

Has FAIL written all over it. Six months. Tops.
I think today is when they start auctioning off all the Casa Bonita stuff.
The big gaudy chaser light sign on the front was so much the place's identity and it's "alive-ness". Ill actually miss that.

This took, what, a week?
TULSA, Oklahoma - A woman firing a pistol brought Tulsa police to the Caves Club at 21st and Sheridan early Sunday.
As club goers were leaving the former Casa Bonita at about 2 a.m., two women got into an argument in the parking lot. Witnesses tell police one of the women went to her vehicle for a handgun.
And the club owner is saying that this is the third incident. He was almost bragging about only three in less than a Month. So whats the over and under on a killing ?
Kitchell back in town?
He's tried to settle in Vegas a couple of times from what I'm told. Probably figured out he's a piker compared to the, uh, "club owners" out there.

I could be, but trust me it's nothing exciting.
Havent seen any activity at the Caves / Casa Bonita the past couple of weeks, but the parking lot lights are always on.
Now there is a new sign over the building that says "Rio"
Its a cave still..money pit type of cave...
They should go ahead and issue a Groupon for their grand opening and get it over with.
Just hit it hard for about two weeks and then disappear. They could make it like one of those furniture places that has the "Going Out of Business Sale" every couple of weeks.
OK I must have missed something. Is this retread back on the road again?
