Title: A new restaurant downtown
Post by: MyDogHunts on November 05, 2013, 05:21:01 PM
This is Chris and Amanda who I found scraping widows on 6th & Boston at the old La Boca Loca.

Their restaurant is Lassallas' New Orleans Deli.  Poorboys, Muffaletta, Gumbo and the rest of my favorites.  They hope to be open in December.

Best of Luck!  Hope I got the name right.

Hopefully they are not subleasing from the original La Boca Loca person. I heard the last proprietors were paying the original tenant a ridiculous monthly fee to use the name and space, which is why they went under.

Yeah they wanted like $3,000 a month to lease that space.

Great news! And downtown doesn't have a true Cajun place (S&J doesn't count), so this will be a nice addition. I just hope they plan to stay open past 2 p.m.

Hours (and consistent hours) are going to be important for that space. Downtown is quickly becoming more than an office park that needs to feed a lunch crowd. Now that Atlas life building is a Marriott Courtyard it is surprising how much night and weekend traffic there is on Boston looking for places to eat and shop. I'm sure Artist and Libby and davidstein can attest to the change.

I sincerely hope that they are open for dinner, at least until 8PM.

it doesn't take an Einstein to know that Einstein Bro's Bagels closing @ 5pm isn't very smart.
At least stay open until 5:30 for crying out loud.
If I get off work @ 5:00, how am I supposed to grab bagels for the family on the way home?

Every Einstein bagel in the country closes around 5p or 6p.  That isn't unique to downtown Tulsa.

With new hours or with the same hours as the last downtown Arbys? Not that I ever have a hankering for Arby's...I don't, but some might.

More importantly, is the old building just going sit with barricades around it or someone going to fix/replace it?

What a beautiful building, I hope it doesn't get "replaced" because that will equal: surface lot.

I've been wondering if the haul-off dumpster there @ Cheyenne is for the rumored Arby's...   There's no work going on yet though.  (There's one broken ceiling tile in the dumpster though)   ;D

Our night sales consistently grow week by week. Anyone who shuts their doors before 9pm any night of the week is throwing money out of the window.

I doubt that the 9-midnight money is worth the trouble for most owner operated places.

I can't get there either during those hours and I live a few blocks away. I live adjacent to downtown but work in the outskirts (there are many like me in my neighborhood, we play downtown in the evening).

You're a 1%-er

By that I mean only 1% of the population works as many hours as you.

Yeah, but they don't even keep up with special events. All of that traffic comes to us. During the Tulsa Run everyone wanted coffee but nobody was open. So they got a sandwich.

Businesses need to be more aggressive with their hours downtown.

Fixed it. After all, they're open until 6. Better than closing up at 2, but here's hoping they stay open through dinner, not just to dinner!

I talked to the owner the first day when they sold out. I suggested to him that they stay open until at least 8pm. He told me it was just him and his wife. So that's the reason they shut down at 6pm.

I think it's vital things stay open along the Deco Corridor after 5pm. And on Sundays.

They sold out twice opening week and had to shut down early. It is a small space and I believe they are cooking/warming on the same surfaces.
