Title: KFAQ in the mornings
Post by: Markk on May 04, 2007, 03:47:13 PM
As predicted, a real snoozer.  Freeman is constantly stumbling over her words, and Medlock tries and tries to be funny.  They were each very poor sidekicks and neither one is front man material.

I have been trying to listen when I take the kids to school.

The first day they made a bunch of gay jokes and every other day seems to be all-anti-immigrant, all-the-time.

not surprised.  Listened one day and it was kinda like listening to Beavis (Medlock) and Butthead (Bates) along with a baying donkey (Freeman).

Someday Medlock will find a job where he is capable.

Not that I have listened but do you mean anti-illegal-immigrant?  If they're bashing on legal immigrants I hope they go off the air soon.

ME TOO! ME TOO!  I listened a few times and it is fairly awful.  That 88.7 is WONDERFUL in the morning, and KRMG continues to be a breezy listen.

Their traffic reporting is pretty well non-existant.  I was driving home the other night and heard Gwen doing a commercial for some siding company, and she kept talking about how Michael DelGiorno had used this company and now she was.

Let's invoke King MaDoG's name as if he's some sort of local God, even though he's gone now. [xx(]

What's the format on 88.7?  I thought that was the FM simulcast of KOTV.

Yes. Thanks...They have only spoke against illegal immigrants.

87.7 is KOTV simulcast, 88.7 is classical through TU.

See that pic of Freeman on the website, I swear I thought I was looking at Brezhnev.

I think Gwen and Chris do a great job and I enjoy Michael Bates as well. I don't agree with everything they say and I could care less about how they worship their faith but overall I do enjoy listening to them.

If I had any complaint it would be too much national topics and not enough local coverage of news events. I've always enjoyed when people call in and I feel the show would be much better if they did this more. But that's just me and I'm sure they are catering to the majority of their listeners wishes.

You mean 3 out of the 5 agree on something?

I tried to listen to Gwen and Chris this morning on the way to work.  The only use I could see for either KRMG or KFAQ these days would be to record it and re-play it when I'm having a fit of insomnia.

That's because they have to keep the hate level up. Sometimes there's just not enough local material to fit the bill.

If they don't get you riled up and ready to march about something, then they aren't doing their job right.

I agree it's a snooze. I was never impressed with Freeman as MDG's sidekick, and am less impressed with her now.

That's funny.  I thought Medlock was supposed to have his finger on the pulse of Tulsa.

I think now he has a finger on Tulsa's gag reflex.
