geez, terry, how far you've fallen from the glory days...
this was sent to me by an associate...
"I am sending this story to you because I hope that when you choose a restaurant, you will keep this in mind. My friends and I were treated very badly at Alioli's this weekend and I want as many people as possible to know about it.
This weekend I went out to eat with some friends - there were four of us including me. We went to Alioli's on Brookside. We received horrible service - some examples: the waitress told us we needed to wait 20 minutes before ordering because the kitchen was too busy, I ordered a martini and got a margarita and the waitress lied to me and told me it was a martini, we asked no less than 4x for butter, we had to ask repeatedly to get water, we had to flag down another waitress to get the bread we'd asked for (which we thought ought to be complimentary since we weren't allowed to order yet, but it wasn't), our food was all served at different times so none of us actually ate together, one of the plates of food my friends ordered didn't come out at all yet we had to ask for it to be removed from our ticket.
Because of the horrible service, we each only gave a 10% tip on our tickets. After we paid, the couple that was with us left, and Wendy and I were sitting at the table finishing our drinks. The owner came over to us and waved our tickets at us and told us that "In Oklahoma we give 15-20% as a tip". I told him that we give tips based on service, and the service was bad. I said "let's start with the fact that we were told by our waitress that we couldn't order because the kitchen was backed up." He said "That's just the way it was tonight." I said, "Well, that's just the way the tips are going to be tonight." At that point he said "Get out!" I said, "Fine we are leaving but we will make sure all of our friends know the way Alioli's does business." He then screamed "GET OUT" causing the entire restaurant to stare at us. We called our friends who had already left and one of them called the owner. During that conversation he told her "We don't want your fat donkey in this restaurant."
I have now checked my bank and it appears that the owner changed the amount of tip on my signed ticket, adding an additional $8 to the tip I left."
terry, i know you are having financial troubles with the joint but maybe, just maybe, this is why... you'd better reverse that charge quick... turns out she works for a large law firm http://nwcdlaw.com/ downtown...
This had the feel of an Urban Legend to it but a quick search on Snopes yeilded no hits.
Time for concern towards Alioli?

Revenge As Close As Your Computer Keyboard
Wednesday May 09, 2007 10:50pm
Tulsa - From search engines to e-mail, everyone is just a click away from a communications revolution. The Internet can even be used to extract revenge. But, as NewsChannel 8's Diana Zoga explains, what you say online could come back to haunt you.
You can be held accountable for what you post online. Usually, opinions are okay. But, claiming a person or business committed a crime could get you sued. Bottom line -- if the statements are false, malicious and intended to hurt, legally there is a problem.
If you have been the target of online comments, it's a problem. Finding the person responsible can be difficult. In some cases, a website can be held accountable for refusing to remove offensive content.
"This is all new, an all new phenomenon," says Terry Turner, owner of Alioli Restaurant.
Turner's brookside restaurant has been the subject of Internet buzz since Monday when a customer circulated e-mails complaining about the service, even blogging about it online.
"Customers' friends have been calling and e-mails coming from across the city that want to know what the story is," Turner says. "If its true, it's taken on a life of its own."
Kristyn Price wrote the e-mails. She says it's her right to share. And that means going online.
"The Internet is like talking to somebody," Price says. "Like calling your friends. It's just as easy to type an e-mail and send it out."
As for Kejuan, he says don't believe everything you see on the web.
"I'm happy now," he says. "I have a beautiful girlfriend. She's seen the thing and she laughs at it."
So does this article from KTUL mean this blog was posted was possibly from TulsaNow? Does this make us famous? [:P]

they've done it several times in the past year....
I know I am slow, but does anyone know if Alioli has denied the allegation?
Depending on the policy of the restraunt....They could have mandatory gratuity on a party that contains a certain number of guest...So the tip thing may not be even an issue.....
Yeah but you can't add to it after the signature.

and if that was the case... the tip would have been on the ticket and they would have been over tipping if the added in an additional 10%, but usually a four person party does not fit under the mandatory gratuity.
I'm disturbed that they didnt bother to rebut the claim. A small business has to rely on its reputation, they dont appear to care too much.

wow, if they can be that non chalant about it, what is it going to take to get their attention. obviously there was no rebuttal or threat of litigation, so that right there indicates something is not right.
he has a beautiful girlfriend so he isnt bothered about it? WHat does that have to do with anything? "Oh, my business is cratering, but this hot bod makes everything ok" hahahaha....you go dude.

The line right before that one:
As for Kejuan, he says don't believe everything you see on the web.
The story quoted further up the thread left out the beginning of the story about Kejuan Jones and his picture on some website about cheaters. They started and ended the story with him.
I can see how it could be misread.
