Title: Any Vette Lovers?
Post by: Porky on October 07, 2007, 10:30:38 am
It's as nice as it looks but there are other Vette conversions out that look better imo, the 67 conversions are my favorite.

These were taken out by the Cherokee Casino this morning as they were lining up for a Vette run.

Those are cool looking. What is it, a late model vette with a nose job and a butt redesign? The front is particularly attractive.

I would love to see them do one of the 58-60 vettes in that manner. I had a '73. No one will ever retro that one!

I tried finding the link to their site but I was unable to. They take a newer Vette and change out the body on it, with their creation. They also make a 1956 Chevy Belair conversion body for the Vette as well.

It's a little bit too extreme for me but I do think it is pretty neat to see.

I was always an F-body (Camaro/Firebird) person myself.

From 1987-2002, they offered the same 350 V-8 motor option with a back seat to boot!

Worst mistake in history by GM was cancelling those cars! They had a product with a rich history and nationwide owner's clubs, and they killed it!

As for those retro-fitted Vettes... not very attractive, IMO.

The Camaro engine was actually slightly detuned from the Corvette engine.  Something like 25 horsepower difference.  Not a lot, but enough to make the Vette the better performer.

The only thing I didn't like about the last generation F-body was the driving position wasn't the most comfortable and visibility wasn't the greatest.  But the performance was outstanding, even with the 3.8L V6 engine (the 3.4 was weak).
