Just thought all you technological types would want to know you can get rid of all that old computer equipment at this event.
Nov. 17th 9am to 4pm
Both Sam's Club Locations
41st & Sheridan Rd.
71st & Mingo Rd.
You mean we're not supposed to just give it to the trash guy?
[:D]
Can businesses take advantage of this - or is it just for individuals?
I would imagine if your business wants to take 50 computers down, you may get turned away.
If you take down four or five as an individual, they will probably take it. Most of these events are strictly for residential waste. Companies should have a plan in place for their own disposal of e-waste and hazardous materials like fluorescent tube lighting.
Here is a list of area computer recyclers from our website...

I have used Natural Evolutions, Inc. (behind Skateland) and Oklahoma Computer Recycling (Pine and Yale).
Thanks.
Peoplw have started charging us to take our used computers. They used to PAY us for the stuff. We're a non-profit hospital that has been in Tulsa nearly 50 years - so money is a big deal.

Anybody have any additions to these? I'm going to have to contact somebody, we have a PC, a couple of monitors and an old scanner to get rid of.
The others not work?
I would put them on Craigslist as an option too.
Does CNN.com count as e-waste? It's not news, it's CNN. [:P]

It seems like most of them require a fee, maybe that's the norm for PC stuff, I don't know.
You mean somebody from there might take my junk? Cool. [:D]
I've gotten rid of appliances and all sorts of stuff there.
i joke my closet is a epa superfund site.
if anyone can solder new capacitors on a motherboard, (epox - 8rda, iirc) im almost positive it will work again. there a couple caps leaking fluid out of the top.
When is the next event like this?
ive got old 2-3 cpus, the newest one being an athlon xp 1500+, i might have a 2200+ too. 3 or 4 old AGP cards, some work, some dont, i know one needs a heatsink and fan on it, i think it still works. lots of old ram, a antec 380w power supply, and i'd like to donate to a school, training program or just dispose of it in a responsible manner.
the cpus and ram for sure work and would make a great computer to run linux on or some equivalent.
if anyone reads this and wants anything for free, send me a PM, we might be able to work out something.
Earth Ecycle will come and get all your computers completely free!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
