Title: State Scholastic Chess Championship in Tulsa!
Post by: Shadow6 on November 10, 2007, 02:33:10 pm
There's going to be a big scholastic (K-12)chess tournament at Foster Middle School Saturday, the 17th of November.

Kids will be competing to crown grade level champions.

The Foster MS Chess Club is hosting the event, and the Oklahoma Scholastic Chess Organization (OSCO) is the governing body.

Entry costs $20.00 in advance, and $30.00 at the door.  Kids must also be a member of the U.S. Chess Federation, and OSCO sells those memberships for $10.00

If you know of a chess-playing kid that is looking for formal competition, you can find information on the tournament at OSCO's Website (http://"http://www.okschess.org").

There is a thriving scholastic chess community in Oklahoma, and there could be over 250 kids playing chess at Foster Midle on the 17th.
