Barack Obama Exposed! GOP Hit Squads Load Up For Obama

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/earl-ofari-hutchinson/barack-obama-exposed-gop_b_80037.html

"Then there's the inexperienced tag that Obama's been saddled with from the start of his campaign. That will be tossed out repeatedly with the hope that it will imprint him as a greenhorn who will bumble and stumble on policy issues if entrusted with the highest office; in other words a Democratic version of Bush.

If none of that works, there's always the favored trump card: race."

EXPECT THIS BS!!!!

Subject: BARACK

Who is Barack Obama? Very interesting and something that should be considered in
your choice. If you do not ever forward anything else, please forward this to
all your contacts...this is very scary to think of what lies ahead of us here in
our own United States...better heed this and pray about it and share it. Was
checked out on "snopes.com". It is factual. Check it for yourself. Who is
Barack Obama? Probable U. S. presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was
born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black MUSLIM from
Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white ATHEIST from Wichita, Kansas.
Obama's parents met at the University of Hawaii. When Obama was two years old,
his parents divorced. Hi s father returned to Kenya. His mother then married
Lolo Soetoro, a RADICAL Muslim from Indonesia.? When Obama was 6 years old, the
family relocate to Indonesia. Obama attended a MUSLIM school in Jakarta. He also
spent two years in a Catholic school. Obama takes great care to conceal the fact
that he is a Muslim. He is quick to point out that, "He was once a Muslim, but
that he also attended Catholic school." Obama's political handlers are
attempting to make it appear that he is not a radical. Obama's introduction to
Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best. In
reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya soon after the divorce, and never
again had any direct influence over his son's education. Lolo Soetoro, the
second husband of Obama's mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam.
Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the RADICAL
teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad
against the western world. Since it is politically expedient to be a CH RISTIAN
when seeking major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has
joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim
background. ALSO, keep in mind that when he was sworn into office he DID NOT use
the Holy Bible, but instead the Koran. Barack Hussein Obama will NOT recite the
Pledge of Allegiance nor will he show any reverence for our flag. While others
place their hands over their hearts, Obama turns his back to the flag and
slouches. Let us all remain alert concerning Obama's expected presidential
candidacy. The Muslims have said they plan on destroying the US from the inside
out, what better way to start than at the highest level - through the President
of the United States, one of their own!!!! Please forward to everyone you know.
Would you want this man leading our country?......

AND MORE NONSENSE!!!!

OBAMA's CHURCH-------(A MUST READ FOR ALL  VOTERS)

Obama mentioned his church during his  appearance with Oprah.  It's the
Trinity Church of Christ.  I  found this interesting.

Obama's church:Please  read and go to this church's website and read what is written there. It  is very alarming. Barack Obama is a member of this church and is  running for President of theU.S. If you look at the first page of  their website, you will learn that
this congregation has a  non-negotiable commitment to Africa. No where is AMERICA even  mentioned. Notice too, what color you will need to be if you should  want to join
Obama's church... B-L-A-C-K!!!  Doesn't look like his  choice of religion has
improved much over his (former?) Muslim upbringing.

Are you aware that Obama's middle name is Mohammed?  Strip away his nice
looks, the big smile and smooth talk and what do  you get? Certainly a
racist, as plainly defined by the stated position  of his church! And possibly a covert
worshiper of the Muslim faith,  even today. This guy desires to rule over
America while his loyalty  is totally vested in a Black Africa and the muslim society which is filled with nothing but hate.

I cannot believe this has not been all over the TV and newspapers.
This is why it is so important to  pass this message along to all of
our family & friends. To  think that Obama has even the slightest
chance in the run for the  presidency, is really scary.

That should not scare you. They're out front about their heritage. And Jews have the same historical commitment to Israel as do many Christians. America needs to commit to Africa for good purpose. Some day African alliance will be good for our country. It will be a slow cultivation.

So when you hear this about the connection to Africa, try to sensitize to it. Barack's not likely to wear it on his sleave nor put that continent ahead of this country.

Religion for many is a personal issue. I hear more speak fear of having a Morman in the White House.

I watched Obama lose a southside Chicago US house race to Bobby Rush-- old fashioned democratic machine style politics did him in there... at the time, he seemed exotic and overly-intellectual to the traditional Jesse Jackson constituency in that district... he lost pretty badly, if memory serves...

I watched as the Illinois Republican party implode in the senate race won by Obama... they were so desperate after scandal caused the winner of the GOP primary to drop out of the race, that the republicans tried to draft  candidates for the general election who didn't even compete in the primary... tried to get former Bears coach Mike Ditka... when he said "no", they got Alan Keyes...

I thought Obama got a "pass" in his senate campaign... I watched one of his debates against Alan Keyes with a republican operative (who worked for house incumbent Ray LaHood).... Illinois has always had a very split republican party and the non-evangelicals and pro-choice republicans couldn't stand Keyes...

I was afraid that in this presidential campaign, Obama would be too soft-spoken and academic in the debates/primaries.... and that his win in his Illinois senate campaign was "too easy."

But Obama used the opportunities given to him by Alan Keyes to campaign alot in conservative southern and western Illinois... away from the southside of Chicago where he wasn't really "black enough" in his previous house race... so, he was able get to know rural and small town people and their concerns and connect with them...

Instead of just staying at home and not voting, these people consistently said that although they didn't agree with Obama on several key issues (gun control especially)... they had respect for him and intended to vote for him... and Obama got 70% of the vote for US Senate...

Surprising... but it's nice to see Obama finding his voice.  When I heard that speech at the 2004 Democratic Convention, I thought the man should at some point be president.  [:P]

You ladies need to meet up over a pot of tea and fuss with each other about who has the best stroke of crochet.  If you really believe the lies that the National Republican Party is putting out via their terrorist sources about a truly patriotic American, then I just shake my head in wonder.

To me America is not about right or left, but about how to work together to make this special place a better world for our children.  Neither side is perfect on its own, that is why it takes two partys to balance each other.

"The Nation -- Former Secretary of State Colin Powell praised Barack Obama on the eve of the New Hampshire primary, crediting the Illinois Senator for breaking barriers while running as "an American man" who can represent the entire nation. In an interview with PBS host Tavis Smiley, Powell said he was "taking joy" in Obama's rise and he said citizens across the country can "enjoy this moment where a person like Barack Obama can knock down all of these old barriers that people thought existed with respect to the opportunities that are available to African Americans."
Powell, the first black person to serve as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, National Security Advisor, and Secretary of State, also firmly rebutted the idea that reporters or voters should assess whether a candidate is white or black "enough." This argument about him not being black enough, that's just absolute nonsense. He is putting himself forward not as a black man but as an American man who wants to be president of the United States of America. We should see Barack as a candidate for president who happens to be black, and not a black candidate for president.

For more on Powell, Obama and breaking barriers in our "segregated power structure," check out this new Nation essay, Obama, Race and the Presidency."

"Ultimately, one part of the high public regard for bright, talented successful black leaders like Obama, Rice or Powell stems from public awareness that our country is still struggling to overcome racial barriers. "

Obama hasn’t forgotten about his day job
Posted January 8th, 2008 at 4:45 pm

This afternoon, Ohio Sen. George Voinovich (R), a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, reportedly “scoffed” when a reporter asked if he thought Barack Obama has the foreign policy chops to be the next president.

“He hasn’t any experience in foreign policy,” Voinovich said of Obama, his colleague on the Foreign Relations Committee. “Give me a break.” No word on whether Voinovich was similarly dismissive of Mike Huckabee, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, and Fred Thompson, all of whom have similar, or less, experience than Obama on matters of foreign policy. (For that matter, it’s also unclear if Voinovich had the same attitude towards George W. Bush and/or Ronald Reagan, neither of whom had any foreign policy experience during their respective campaigns.)

People can certainly come to their own conclusions about Obama’s background and skills. But it’s worth noting that the senator is currently working behind the scenes, reportedly on a daily basis, to help stem the post-election violence in Kenya, where his father was born and where his grandmother still lives.

On January 1, two days before the Iowa caucuses, Obama left a message for Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. According to Robert Gibbs, Obama’s Communications Director, Rice called back “as we were driving from Sioux City to Council Bluffs on January 1. They talked about the situation and Rice asked Obama to tape a Voice of America message calling for calm.” Obama taped the message on January 2, after a rally in Davenport, Iowa. […]

On January 3, the day of the caucuses, he had a conversation with Bishop Desmond Tutu, who had flown to Nairobi to see if he could begin negotiations with the factions. In the days since his Iowa victory, Obama has had near-daily conversations with the U.S. Ambassador in Kenya or with opposition leader Raila Odinga. As of late this afternoon, before his rally in Rochester, N.H., Obama was trying to reach Kenyan President Kibaki.

I know this doesn’t fit nicely into the no-experience narrative, but this actually counts as some pretty substantive — and very relevant — foreign policy experience.

Joe Klein said:

I haven’t been able to talk to Obama directly about this — he is sort of busy right now — but it does seem noteworthy that, in the midst of the most amazing week of his life, Barack Obama has found the time to do some diplomatic scut-work. I suspect we’ll be seeing a lot of this sort of thing if he wins the nomination and is elected President.

Noam Scheiber added:

I hate to be naive about this — Obama obviously doesn’t have the foreign policy experience of, say, a John McCain. And who knows what will come of his efforts in Kenya. But the gesture alone reminds you what this country could do with a little change in attitude at the top.

And just for the record, here’s the message Obama recorded on behalf of the State Department:

“Despite irregularities in the vote tabulation, now is not the time to throw that strong democracy away. Now is a time for President Kibaki, opposition leader Odinga, and all of Kenya’s leaders to call for calm, to come together, and to start a political process to address peacefully the controversies that divide them. Now is the time for this terrible violence to end.

“Kenya’s long democratic journey has at times been difficult. But at critical moments, Kenyans have chosen unity and progress over division and disaster. The way forward is not through violence – it is through democracy, and the rule of law. To all of Kenya’s people, I ask you to renew Kenya’s democratic tradition, and to seek your dreams in peace.”

Good for him.

History gives honest look at fairy tale
Eric Zorn | Change of Subject
January 17, 2008

The whole thing, really, is a fairy tale.

I mean, give me a break: The guy gives a good speech. Yes. Give him that. But are we electing a toastmaster or a president of the United States? Let's look at his record to see what qualifies him for the highest office in the land:

Eight years in the Illinois legislature? He was a party loyalist and a temporizer who too often put politics ahead of principle and was cautious rather than bold when it came to controversial issues.

Two years in Washington? Yes, he pontificated about how he opposed the war, but at crunch time he voted to fund it. And his legislative record on Capitol Hill is thin.

Other accomplishments? The enthusiasm for his candidacy was sparked by one big successful speech and is carried along by his gift for uplifting rhetoric.

Consider, in contrast, the senator from New York who is his top rival for the nomination: A history in public life going back 30 years. Solid reform credentials. Clearly far more ready for the Oval Office than the younger, audacious Mr. Slim Silver-tongue from Illinois.

They didn't have blogs back in 1860, but if they did, you can bet that the pundits and partisans hoping to discredit Abraham Lincoln's candidacy and bring his supporters down to earth would have posted something very much like the screed above.

Lincoln was far from perfect. As a legislator and politician, he was more pragmatist than ideologue; more a moderate than a zealot. He made deals, played the game: When he served in the General Assembly, he failed to support the extension of voting rights to blacks and he leavened his opposition to slavery with opposition to the "promulgation of abolition doctrine."

Did he otherwise always show great judgment? No.

Critics noted that Lincoln was a prime backer of an ambitious set of public-works projects -- the first "Illinois FIRST" -- that nearly bankrupted the state when the economy began to sour -- and he wouldn't back down.

And sure, during his two years as a U.S. representative in Washington he spoke out forcefully against the Mexican-American War, calling it "unnecessarily and unconstitutionally commenced." But he helped keep that war going by voting to supply soldiers, saying later, "You can think as you please as to whether that was consistent."

In all, Lincoln wasn't "fit for the presidency." Who said so? He did, in an 1859 letter to a backer. What made him a plausible candidate was an electrifying anti-slavery speech given at New York City's Cooper Institute in February 1860.

Still, the favored candidate for the Republicans that year and the leader through two rounds of voting at the party convention in Chicago was two-term New York Sen. William Seward, whose lengthy resume also included two terms as governor of that state.

I point this out not to make too much of the parallels to current criticisms of presidential candidate Barack Obama in what now looks like a two-person race against Hillary Clinton for the Democratic nomination: Only eight years in Springfield and three in Washington! Plays politics! Voted to fund a war he says he opposes! Reputation built primarily on the sands of oratory! The senator from New York is more qualified on paper!

Obama's no Abe Lincoln.

But, as I observed last February when Obama all but donned a stovepipe hat when announcing his candidacy in Springfield, Abe Lincoln was no Abe Lincoln at this stage of the game either.

I point this out simply as a reminder that Lincoln and history went on to make fools of those whose obsession with his shortcomings and failures blinded them to the singular promise of his gifts.

Not often, but fairy tales do come true.

Obama is clearly not a fairy tale.  He's exactly what the country needs right now.  Read his foreign policy statements, and you'll see how he's focused on important issues like controlling nukes and attacking violent Islamic jihadists.  Who is most likely to get the attention of foreign leaders and (in many cases, more importently) foreign people?  He is less likely than the others to involve the United States in a stupid war based on short-sighted politics.  His focus on changing the rules for access to politicians yet inviting all interests to talk about legislation will enhance public confidence in government.  If you have the public behind you, you can do much more.  Finally, it is true that NONE of the Democratic candidates have any experience as a governor or mayor or otherwise running a large bureaucracy, which, I believe, is why whoever wins will pick Richardson as running mate.  But that lack of administrative experience is not something that puts Clinton at a comparative disadvantage with her current opponents.

Senator Patrick Leahy, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, endorsed Him. Earlier this week, lost in the noise about "race," U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill of Missouri endorsed Obama. Also, in the last week, Senators Ben Nelson of Nebraska, Tim Johnson of South Dakota, and John Kerry did the same. Also, lost in the race/gender noise was Obama's endorsement by Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, and Governors of Virginia and Wisconsin.

I think Obama's idealism does need to be tempered by a sense of that which is realistic. I think this will be fulfilled when the special interests make him an offer, as they do with all candidates sooner or later....

Sums what up?...the fact that Obama isn't stuck in the mire of the "establishment" because he's new?  New is good.  Down with the old farts!
