Title: Sante Fe Cattle Company
Post by: TeeDub on February 11, 2008, 08:58:54 AM

Just opened in BA next to Buffalo Wild Wings and Chili's....

It is one of those eat peanuts and throw the shells on the floor kinda places.

Food was tasty and plentiful, beer came in a mason jar.

Two thumbs up.

I want a steak house a-la the Simpson's.  Where I get to choose what cow I eat.  I'll haaaaaaaaave - tha tone.  ZZZzzap.

Oh, he didn't put up much of a fight. How about that one?

ZZzzap.

quote:
Homer:   Wait a minute.  Is this the biggest steak you've got?
Seventy-two ounces?  I thought this was supposed to be a
steakhouse, not a little girly, underpantsy, pink doily,
   tea-party place.
Waiter:   Well, there is one steak that's available only by special
request.  We call it, uh, Sir Loin-A-Lot.  It's, uh, the
   size of a boogie board.
Homer:   Ooh, I'll have that one.  And to drink ... meatballs.
Waiter:   Very good, sir.  [rings a triangle] Ladies and gentlemen,
this brave man has accepted the Sir Loin-A-Lot challenge.
He will pit his stomach against sixteen pounds of
   indomitable tenderloin.
   [restaurant crowd applauds]
Homer:   [to family] They like me because I'm brave.

Man I the Simpson's.

Yes, these are down in the OKC area.  This is the first Tulsa area location with more coming in Glenpool and I think Bixby.

The Bixby location will be at 121st/Memorial, according to the mayor.

I was severely unimpressed. The food was good, sure, but one of the managers was rude and condescending and kinda put a damper on the entire experience. Oh well, could have been worse: I could have gone out to Elephant Dung-er-Elephant Run.

Sounds like Brangus Feed Lot.  Do they have the huge (~30 ounce) steaks?

It would be nice if they put one, you know, IN the city.  Then I might patronize their business.   I don't think the drive to the burbs is worth it.

Bugo, I am not sure what part of Tulsa you live in, but the restaurant is right off the Broken Arrow Expressway in BA.  If you are ever on the expressway and looking for a place to try, it is quick to get there.

What? Are you on crack? My wife and I just ate there tonight and the steak, the Ribeye, was cooked perfectly and was very tender. Service was good and as always we left happy.

I think you just like to *****.

No biggie, I was just Inteller baiting and it worked.  I only eat at TRH when I go home, that is upscale dining in the little town I grew up in.  And everyone, i mean everyone goes to Hardee's for breakfast.  Sad isn't it, thank goodness I live in Tulsa now where I can have a good breakfast at Rio Verde.

A chain is a chain is a chain.......TRH, Santa Fe Cattle (I don't think they even HAVE one in Santa fe...they're from Indiana), Crapalbees, Outback......I can't think of a single one that is really worth the money.

I am still waiting for someone to tell me which steak house serves real butter instead of a margarine spread on their baked potatoes........

What about Heritage Hills @ 129th E. Ave and 131st S.?
I like the steaks and the cooked carrots are some of the best ever. Last time we were there they had a bluegrass band playing.

I have wondered about that place. We keep having soccer tournaments at Indian Springs complex and I pass that restaurant each time.

I am glad to hear it is worth stopping in for dinner.
