Quote from: patric on November 16, 2024, 08:52:04 AMClayco Wins EPC Contract for $620M Solar Wafer Plant in Tulsa.

Norwegian monocrystalline solar wafer producer NorSun AS signed an engineering, procurement and construction contract with Clayco for its $620-million silicon ingot and solar wafer manufacturing plant in Tulsa, Okla., the companies said.

NorSun announced in June it plans to build a 5-GW plant at the site, a 60-acre greenfield location at the Mingo Development Area near Tulsa International Airport. There is room at the site to potentially expand the plant capacity to 10 GW in the future.

Construction is set to start next year for production to begin in 2026, according to NorSun.

The plant would be among the first facilities in the U.S. producing its components, according to the Oklahoma Dept. of Commerce, which helped facilitate the development. The project "marks a major step in rebuilding the U.S. solar value chain," said Anthony Johnson, president of Clayco's industrial business unit, in a statement.

Quote from: dbacksfan 2.0 on September 24, 2024, 02:30:01 PMSo, how many innocent Israeli women, children and men have been killed by indiscriminate rocket attacks by Hezbollah since 2006? Or are we just supposed to go along with Israel is the evil occupier oppressor?

Hezbollah drops a rocket and kills 12 children at a soccer field. Tell me what part of the war were they involved in. How about the 12 athletes at the Munich games in 1972 that were executed?

I hate the deaths of innocents on bothering sides, but Hezbollah and Hamas have made innocents valuable targets and I can't get upset over what happened with the pager and two way radio devices because they made the choice that everywhere is now a battlefield and collateral damage and death is part of the new rules they created.

They learned from Israel.  Who learned from Palestinians.  Who learned from Israel.  Who learned from Palestinians....  well, you see the pattern.

Who learned from us.

$100 million grant awarded to Oklahoma City thru the Bipartisan Infrastructure and jobs act law (Biden-Harris Administration) according to Mayor Holt's recent July column:

$43 million for road and bridge projects
$43 million airport system improvement projects
$4.3 million for multi-use trail on Eastern Avenue
      $2 million for sidewalks
$800k for plan to prevent fatalities

$17 million to Oklahoma Department of Transportation for a Pedestrian Bridge over the Oklahoma
River useful for OKC hosting Canoe Slalom events for LA28 Olympics.

New $900 million arena on the old 4 sq., block site will be above ground.  The 950 space underground
parking will not be use but replaced by a 650 space structured garage incorporated into the arena.
The new arena will have a minimum of at least 750,000 sq.ft of space for concession/exhibit
    amenities.

A potential future intercity transit hub is also being planned for the site.

The downtown Oklahoma City area will start looking a whole lot different in the next few months:

Quote from: Red Arrow on November 14, 2024, 12:06:47 AMIs Ryan Walters trying to turn Oklahoma into the "Christian equivalent" of Afghanistan?

No thanks, I don't want it.

Walters makes prayer video, instructs teachers to show it in class.

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A recorded prayer was emailed in an unlisted YouTube link to Oklahoma school superintendents yesterday, telling them to have the video shared in classrooms and with parents.

This is what the email to Oklahoma superintendents said:

"Dear Superintendent:
We are in a dangerous time for this country. Student's rights and freedoms regarding religious liberties are continuously under assault.

The newly created Department of Religious Liberty and Patriotism will be working to thwart any attempts to disrupt our Oklahoma student's fundamental freedoms.

In one of the first steps of the newly created department, we are requiring all of Oklahoma schools to play the attached video to all kids that are enrolled. We are also requiring that that school districts send this video to all parents as well.

Quote from: Red Arrow on November 13, 2024, 11:54:55 PMGas Buddy seems to be listing several locations in the Tulsa area as Maverick.

I think the Tulsa area Kum & Go locations used to be Git & Go, but I'm not sure.

I think Git-N-Go was still in business when I left, but they were just becoming messy, similar to when Circle K switched over to STAX.

A couple of friends and I went through a whole list of alternative names for Kum & Go that I can't repeat in public.
