Does the gestapo beer distributors in this state allow Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest-Märzen to be imported?  Paulaner and Spaten is old hat.

I wish Lowenbrau would be available again on tap. I miss the old original Oktoberfest before it became a carnival

When was that? I remember going to one of the first ones, if not the first, on the East side of the river north of the 21st street bridge. It was like a small carnival even then. There were even helicopter rides taking off nearby!

Still, I agree with you about the atmosphere. Its kinda carney with better beer.

yes and no.  Ranch Acres is a good place to try and get stuff, but often times they just lament that the distributors wont let them have it.

Ranch Acres can get anything available in Oklahoma as far as I know.  They seem to be more than willing to accept the challenge.

The best Oktoberfests are homemade.  We got a kit from high gravity last year and it was gone in no time.

I think the first one I went to was '82 or '83, Everthing was spread out as you walked thru mud to see vendor stuff. Now many vendors are all under a few crowded tents. There seemed to be more bratwurst vendors back then too.
We didn't go last year but we'll be out there this Saturday. Once you get in the big tent the other stuff doesn't matter anyway[;)]
