Mario's Pizzeria, the absolutely BEST NY style pizza offered in Tulsa (IMHO) is opening a new store in Broken Arrow this month.

I can't wait to try it.

Anybody got info on specific location and the date?

Supposedly it is going to be at 71st and elm.   With 2 other local NY style pizzerias within a mile, you would think they could find a better spot.

Uncle Vinny's is excellent, and once you try it, you won't bother going to the new Mario's.

Vinny's wasn't bad. Especially when it was free last week.

Will the BA Mario's treat you like  you're the lowest piece of toilet paper on the bottom of their shoe, the way they do at the original location? If so, I'm in.  Broken Arrow needs that kind of attitude.[}:)]

Yeah, free 1-toppings the first two days they were open. They ran out of raw materials at 5:15 the first day. Heard the second day was pretty much a madhouse. I got two pizzas and they were a bit rushed and cooked uneven, but not too shabby.

The problem with Broken Arrow is that no matter how it grows (last time i was there to visit, I'd learned that the population went up to some 80,000, while back in the 1970's, it was only what 20,000?) it can't admit that it's in reality a mere suburb of Tulsa.

Oh the bitterness of deafeat and sour grapes.  Although BA voted more in favor of the Warren/Kaizer tax than Owasso did, more ire is directed towards BA.  Lovely.  And here, I thought Jenks was the suburb that thought it wasn't even part of Oklahoma, much less Tulsa.

The ire is directed towards BA because they drew it there. Everyone with a paycheck from the city of Broken Arrow was vocally opposed to it. Of course, why wouldn't they? Sales taxes in the city of BA, Tulsa County are worse than 5 miles in any direction. Of course, if they had supported by the river that could be used by and employ thousands, they choose to "wisely" invest their sales tax in a camouflage clothing store barely running in the black. Not that i think they should've turned it down, but they are paying dearly now for what they hope will be the shot in the arm BA needs to develop an idenity aside from being the world's largest strip mall.

I was just saying that I like the New-Yorker attitude I get at the original Marios and I just think everyone should experience service with a scowl at some point.  I think it's funny.

Yeah....until they run into a real New Yorker like one of the guys I work with. They were being rude to him and he tore them a new donkey.

It was really quite comical.

Went to Uncle Vinny's last night. Wow. Really good pizza. I've been extolling the virtues of Mario's ever since I first tried it more than ten years ago - but I think Vinny's was just as good. (Did I say that?)

I'll definitely go back. The construction in BA near their store sucks, but I just go around it.
