In fact, just going by the posts here and on other threads about KFAQ, I could conceivably imagine it being something roughly akin to this:

So are you saying the new guy is Jon Lovitz?

Well, the format of WNYX was news and talk (remember the McNeal Perspective?), and there'd have to be some tensions and ego's at play. And in fictional radio, nobody was a bigger buffoon than Bill McNeal. But I do remember the Lovitz character and his backstory, and perhaps it could be a fitting comparison.

Normally I listen to a "motivational" cd in the morning but today I turned on the radio to 1170 KFAQ and did not recognize the voice.  I thought well maybe they are sitting in for Medlock.  NOt the case I guess.  Is this a permanant person or another short term?  Why did Michael Leave again?

The new guy is Pat Campbell out of Orlando and is permanent.  He actually started out as a regular caller to a left-leaning radio show confronting the hosts.  One day he got a call from a right leaning station and .......

Is Orlando to Tulsa really a step up in the radio business?

I should think Orlando would be a step up in terms of media markets.

Orlando's market is about double of what Tulsa's is.

But if the new guy goes from a so-so time slot in Orlando to a prime morning-drive slot in Tulsa, his raise in pay may be substantial.

I'm speculating, as I'm not sure what the time slot in his old job was. But he did landd a plum spot in Tulsa -- the only way he could do better in his talk format is to go to KRMG.

At any rate, it sounds like Mudlock had his day in the sun and will soon find himself persona non-gratis with the local GOP and Tulsa radio.

His ego might be as big as DelGiorno's.

Listening to that podcast, you can hear the ego's battling and tensions rising. You'd probably expect that in larger markets, but Tulsa?

I've listened to him for a couple of mornings now, and think he is a refreshing change. I used to listen to KRMG some, but got really tired of Joe Kelly start to talk about a news story, and then say "If you want to know more about it, go to krmg.com and click on "morning news with Joe Kelly". I don't think I heard a complete report about anything, even once!

Really, at that hour of the morning, I am getting ready for work or driving to work, and am in no position to "click on the morning news with Joe Kelly". I'm glad I finally have a choice for AM talk and news.

I can't stand Medlock. I never could. I don't listen any more since Gwen Freeman left. Gwen Freeman was very good and the show crashed when she left.[B)]

Apparently Medlock pulled a doozie on the Republican creditials chair. The stunt got him a demotion. Read about on the David Arnett column.

I read the column and one of the thing's that jumped out at me was that it mentioned "Medlock has attempted to leverage politics and media and was successful first as a co-host with KFAQ's morning host Gwen Freeman until she would not submit to his demand to lead a conversation one morning so he swung a microphone which hit her."

TulsaMini wrote in a previous forum "The mic noise is about ten minutes in. Then silence. When she begins speaking, you can hear the tension in her voice. Then she says "Chris, you had a comment?" She was pi$$ed and you can tell."

So, Is that the pause that we hear when she is talking to him? Here is the link thank you can hear this happen on Thanks "Tulsa Mini" http://ourtulsaworld.podomatic.com/entry/2008-03-01T18_16_02-08_00

I can hear a pause, so is it true or just an allegation

Ok, according to the link, Gwen Freeman has gone to Nashville, which I would guess is a bigger market:
