The Tulsa Symphony Orchestra will present several blockbusters in the symphonic repertoire depicting heroes, destiny and eternity.  The concert opens with Verdi's Overture to "La Forza del Destino."  Several excerpts from Wagners "Ring of the Nibelungen" follow:  "Entrance of the Gods into Valhalla" (Das Rheingold), "Ride of the Valkyries" (Die Walkurie), "Forest Murmurs" (Siegfried) and "Dawn and Siegfried's Rhine Journey" (Gotterdammerung).  The concert concludes with the first-ever Tulsa performance of Richard Strauss' epic tone poem "Ein Heldenleben" (A Hero's Life), TrV 190, op. 40.  TSO's virtuoso concertmaster, Rossitza Goza, will be featured in the extensive violin solo in the concluding work.  Daniel Hege, Music Director of the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, makes a triumphant return podium after a critically-acclaimed Tulsa debut in October 2007.  The concert starts at 7:30 pm in Chapman Music Hall of the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, 3rd & Cincinnati.  Tickets at $5-$65 go on sale April 16.  Call the PAC ticket office, 596-7111 or order tickets online at www.myticketoffice.com .

This concert is funded in part by a grant from the Oklahoma Arts Council.
