Wasn't there going to be a Conference USA Playoff or Tournament, or is that at Reynold's?

Not until 2010...Memphis had it until 2009.  So one more year for Memphis, then the BOK Center gets it.

Tulsa tried to get it earlier but Memphis threw a fit and so they get to keep it one more year (2009) to make it an even 5 in memphis.

There were some other issues.

C-USA is well aware of Jerome Jordan's potential to go to the NBA next year and will monitor that and the effect it could have on TU's team (and as a result, ticket sales).  Something to keep an eye on . . . not saying we won't get the tournament -- the league really wants it to move around -- but Memphis isn't afraid to pull some stunts to get their way.

The Memphis equivalent of the Tulsa Sports Commission is kind of thuggish (reminds me of the OKC equivalent).  They tried to block TU from going to the Liberty Bowl and then refused to release the blocks of hotel rooms downtown until very late.  Fans who went through TU had to stay way out.  Bill Babb had some strong words to say about Memphis' people.
