waterboy...thanks for the typo correction...I think you meant It's poli sci.
Also... not sure where the confusion is coming from that Sarah was a teacher....to my knowledge she has not been a teacher, history or otherwise.

11. Are you offended by the phrase "Under God" in the Pledge of Allegiance? Why or why not?

SP: Not on your life. If it was good enough for the founding fathers, its good enough for me and I'll fight in defense of our Pledge of Allegiance.

I understand the sentiment, but, yowch.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892, by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister and Christian Socialist.  That's 56 years after the last founding father, James Madison, died in 1836.

"Under God" was added 62 years later in 1954.

What she said may, or may not, be good enough for the founding fathers...depending on which one you pick...but is it good enough for a history teacher?

Maybe her idea of a "founding father" is Joe McCarthy.  Since his techniques were similar to the modern neocons' techniques.

She isn't immune.  I'm just trying to figure out why you aren't piling on the Obama gaffes?  Furthermore, why aren't you making the same justifications for Palin that you do for Obama?  Stating that "under god" was good enough for the founding fathers is a true statement.  References to God fill our founding documents.  But she made an error.  She misspoke.

How many times does "god" appear in the Constitution?

Jesus H. Christ.  I recently remember a presidential candidate that said he's campaigned in 57 states.

Are you two completely blind to anything stupid Obama says or does? I can assure you, his list of gaffes is much longer.

Now, wait a minute, IPLAW, in the other thread we were learning that the "missile gap" in stupid has closed.  You and guido and gaspar and the thousands of conservative residents of the wingnutosphere monkeycage don't get throw poop by yourselves anymore.  You have to get hit with it, too.  Sorry.

Sure, if Palin thought about it she might revise her answer, but, maybe we just want to throw it out there, and make you have to play defense for a while.  [;)]

Now that I think about it, she could have gotten her calendar years mixed up with her creation years (Dinosaurs are only 6,000 creationist years old).  Hey, even NASA gets its metric and USA measures mixed up.  Doesn't make her stupid.

Before you rightwingers go screaming 'that's a liberal blog', remember there's embedded video in there from a CNN interview.  Note how he sidesteps the base of the question.

Tucker might need a Dramamine after that interview, because the spinning might make him ill.

I saw the last part of that interview. It was hilarious to see the Tucker guy saying Palin's experience as commander-in-chief of the Alaska Natl. Guard for 20 months was serious military executive experience. When asked particularly what decisions she made he slip slided away and accused her of attacking Palin which made me laugh out loud. She would have nothing of it and was having a hard time keeping from laughing.

Who is Tucker Bounds anyway and why are they letting him speak without preparation? Never ask a question or bring up a topic without preparation. Even on CNN.
