I went to the Greek festival today for lunch. It was great.

You can now just get in line and order a la carte. I had the Gyros sandwich and an order of Kalamari for six bucks each.

The Gyro was tasty but the pita was too soft for my liking. The lamb meat was sliced thin, but with five layers and lettuce and tomato made quite a dish. The Kalamari was incredible. Mine was right out of the fryer and was supplemented by a very spicy red dipping sauce. The portion was big enough to share and included the usual chucks of squid but also full little baby squids battered and deep-fried to a perfect crunch.

I went there to order the desserts but was too full to get baklava and loukoumathes (honey puffs). I plan to try to get by late tonight and pick up some desserts for the family.

Great job to the Greek church for putting on a great festival. I also want to thank them for all their recycling efforts.

OPA!

I always get balaclavas confused with baclava.

So I just call them both "thingies."

Cool...thanks for the reminder!

I love Greek Holiday!

The red wine they were selling was some pretty stout stuff.  I love the honey puffs, but didn't get any this year.  I tried the coffee, which was very sweet and bitter at the same time.  It tasted very much like the espresso I've had in Italy.

It's Oklahoma's oldest international festival and I love it, but I wish the event could grow.  Other than select outlets (i.e., KWGS) there is no marketing.  Many people don't even know it exists.

Just think of what it would be with average crowds of 5,000 or more!

The lamb I had was excellent, and the beer was ice cold.

I love all of the cultural events that we have in Tulsa. I wish there were more of them (no, not just for the beer drinking).

I enjoyed it...worth the 2.00 admission.

Good food, good pastries, beautiful weather Friday night.

Line for food moved pretty fast, despite the length.

A++++
WILL ATTEND AGAIN!

LOVE the new a la carte thing... husband and I took son and his pal for Saturday lunch, and were able to sample almost everything. I didn't think $22 for food for four (ample food) was unreasonable, considering that you get free entertainment and it benefits the church.

Greek potatoes were new and a wonderful surprise.
