Hey look, neighbors complaining about the fair...

They have more to complain about today after a traffic engineer "accidentally" put No Parking signs where cars were legally parked.
They took the signs down the next day, but not until after legally parked neighbors had their cars impounded.

Still playing dirty pool at the fairgrounds...

Have they thought of involving the local community more? Do they still have pie contests and that type of event? Speaking of cars, they should let all the collectors go place their antiques for display. Maybe other types of local talent display and contests? Bring back the old flavor of what the Fair was in it's original form.

Every summer the fair sends out a thick "premium book" with a list of all the contests you can enter. Painting, photography, scrapbooking, pumpkin decorating, needlework, quilting -- and within each category there are subcategories and age classifications, with ribbons and cash prizes awarded in each category. Plus FFA and 4-H have their contests.

The old-fashioned fair is still there, if you look for it. And as someone mentioned, there's also Tulsa County Free Fair.

Who'd have thought there were so many talented confectionary and cake artists in the area?  The size of that display was astounding.

The potential sugar shock was staggering. [:P]

Does anyone know if concealed carry is permitted during the Fair?

I remember this being an issue a few years ago, but can't remember how it turned out.

Did someone mention metal detectors? Are there metal detectors at the entrances?

That reminds me.....do you know why they call it a fair?

Nobody could spell mediocre.

Might want to re-read your CCL stuff to make sure.  Remember, first and foremost, it's your responsibility to comply.  When in doubt, lock it up in your glove box or leave it at home.

I don't think detectors are in use since a guy with a reported gun was being chased over the weekend[;)]

So someone thinks maybe someone has a gun.

We all know that reports to police are highly accurate.

last year, the carnies would let parents ride free with their small kids who couldn't ride alone.  this year they are charging all riders.  They are hurting bad.  one of the food vendors (selling a regular fair favorite, bratwurst) said that traffic was really low.  looks like removing bells was a big **** up.  i think last year they did ok because lots of people came that didn't know bells was gone.

Went today.

This is two years in a row I've been disappointed...why are they letting Ford pay them to be the only automobile display at the fair?  The biggest reason I go is to check out all the cars.  There hasn't been **** there the last two years so I guess this was my last trip to the fair :(

I didn't go last year but I remember there being a ton of Fords by the barns (due to sponsorships) but almost every vendor was on display in the IPE building.
huh?  I remember seeing Chevys there last year.

I went Saturday night, glad to see folks using the park and ride.  There were some nice folks out.
I also like to check out the cars/trucks.  All I saw were Fords (bummer) and the overpriced minitrucks.
