Here are some pics from the northside areas of Edgewater and Rogers Park...

I understand the type of urban density on this kind of scale isn't likely or very much warranted in Tulsa... it just seems strange from looking at newer construction that there isn't anything that offers the kinds of "walkable urbanity" offered in these pics.

Enjoy.

New Rogers Park condos next door to older building

New Rogers Park condos that incorporate mixed use on the first couple of floors-- this was a marginal area for years-- high crime, etc...

New residential next door to old

My old "Artist in Residence" building-- old fire code made most apts here perfect for practicing, etc...

Of course, too much urban density and gentrification can result in...

Walkability at a grocery store (Jewel in Edgewater)... the kind of parking lot that might even make PonderInc smile...

The Berwyn "El" stop across the street from the grocery store...

Transit-oriented development "old style"-- it ain't always pretty...

New construction in Edgewater...

With all the new construction comes a downside...

The kind of new condo construction I'd like to see in areas of Tulsa... (from a side street walkable to the Jewel grocery store in Edgewater)...

This highrise is down the street from another grocery store and other mixed-use...
