Yes, it is a fact that Megabus'  insurance company insures buses that are on routes that have posted clearances that are up to 6" shorter than any on the Turner Turnpike.

There are Buses leaving today at 1:55, 4:20, 6:00 and 9:35 for $7 on such a route between Austin and San Antonio.

but not Tulsa or OKC. Imagine that. It's as though they found them unprofitable. Or couldn't cope with "don't drive into smoke" signs. Or "next 7 miles one lane".

Yes, imagine that. There must be some other reason for them to not serve Oklahoma than bridge heights. Glad you agree with me.

That Austin/San Antonio bus was completely full by the way.

Please. Leave me alone. You seem to stalk my posts and find the least discrepancy or error and pounce. Ignoring any supporting or relevant information. Almost from the time I signed up. You've attacked me on river development. On the River Parks Authority. Things I have relevant knowledge and experience with. You've called me out as a racist, a populist, a socialist, a prattling nincompoop. You prefer to do internet research for your views rather than hands on experience.  Some do, some sit in offices and criticize. Part of life. Did I even make note of your insistence that Sanders was out on Super Tuesday? Or that Kasich wouldn't last as well? Or that Jenks schools were the best...till you took your kids out?

Fine. You're brilliant and I'm a drug addled boomer. Now, lets move on.

Saw a news report that Oklahoma's annual Heartland Flyer subsidy might be cut due to state budget shortfall.  That might renew interest in bus between Dallas and OKC.

swake is a longtime poster on here that is usually pretty solid. He went after my job a month or so ago and it was out of line. He's dropped it since. He probably just gets grumpy like we all do talking about Tulsa politics.

Still don't understand why there's never been any service to/from Tulsa.
There was service from OKC and Norman a few years ago... and they currently offer service from smaller Little Rock, AR to Chicago, St Louis, Chicago and Memphis... http://us.megabus.com/routemap.aspx

For years Tulsa was thought of as a great city to try pilot projects and new concepts because Tulsans were pretty good about taking to new ideas.  Seems like this would have been another good place to try something like this.

Ooops. I must have Chicago on the brain... the direct bus trips from Little Rock are to:  St. Louis, Chicago, Memphis, and Dallas.  :-[
Honestly, I'd far rather have civic subsidies spent on something like this over "rapid transit" on the 11th Street No-tell-Motel district or the nightline bus that goes around downtown in circles with a handful of riders who'd have to be at least half drunk to fully appreciate its immenities... http://tulsatransit.org/maps-schedules/the-loop/

I mean, if OKC's losing the Heartland Flyer, I just don't see why a Megabus option linking the Tulsa/Brady District? and OKC/Bricktown? to Dallas wouldn't provide a valuable service compared with multiple stops at Greyhound stations in/around both cities which has its place but leaves much to be desired.  Both downtowns would be good for daytrips and/or even a late afternoon/early evening bus to/from for a night out.

If not Megabus, then why not come up with bus service that has a couple of stops in Bricktown and the OKC Midtown McNellies/Dust Bowl/Fassler Hall with stops in Tulsa at BOk/Brady District and a second stop at either Blue Dome or Brookside, especially with the Gathering Place eventually coming online.
