Any one know what is going to be built at the corner of N. Mingo and 36th Street North - across the street from the entrance to American Airlines.

I asked a few days ago and was told it's to be a vendor support facility for AA. I don't know if that's true.

Below is the article from the Tulsa World regarding the new construction.

Construction has started on a new manufacturing facility near Tulsa International Airport, the first part of the airport's plan to develop 700 nearby acres for industrial use.
The airport's governing board approved the plans 20 months ago, but now Industrial Developers of Oklahoma, LLC has started construction on the 42,000-square-foot industrial manufacturing facility.
"We want to target companies that would support the industry around the airport," said airport marketing director Alexis Higgins. "But we also want to develop restaurants and retail in the area, too."
The property is located on the northeast corner of Mingo Road and 36th Street North, just across from American Airlines' technical operations center.
The building will have a high dock for drive-in loading and capacity for a 20-ton crane.
The company has partnered with CBRE to find a tenant for the property.
"There's definite demand for leases on a building like this," said David Glasgow with CBRE.
Glasgow said the facility should be finished sometime in late 2014 or early 2015.
The Tulsa Airports Improvement Trust approved a $29,928-a-year lease on the 8.5 acre property in August 2013, a revision to a previous lease with similar terms. The company agreed to a 20 year lease on the property with five five-year options.
The Tulsa Airports Authority is working to develop about 700 acres of property on the airport, acquired at various points over the last decades.
The Tulsa Airports Authority had also worked to acquire some of the land for a potential third runway at the airport in case one was ever needed, but plans for that kind of project would be years out.
Property planned for development includes land at the airport, land immediately adjacent and nearby lots such as the Mingo Development Area.
Higgins said the property at the Mingo Development Area is aimed at nearby manufacturers that might want to take advantage of the local concentration of aerospace industry, but don't need direct access to the runway at Tulsa International Airport.
"This project is laying the foundation for future development along this corridor that will ultimately support the efficiency and productivity of all area businesses," said Jeff Mulder, director of the Tulsa Airports Authority.

Basically a 42000 sq ft taxpayer funded spec factory, with no tenant lined up.

Taxpayer funded eh?
Can we use it for a community hackerspace?

Restaurants would be nice, but the majority of the workforce at AA is limited to a 30 minute lunch period. The "cheese grater" turnstiles in front of the buildings operate on RFID chips built into employee ID badges and record the in-and-out times.

You tl;dr'ed that didn't you?

A company is building the facility, and paying the city $30k to lease the land. Taxpayers aren't out a dime.

I reread the article and I stand corrected.  A third party is building it as a spec building.  That's GREAT news.  For some reason I thought the "company" they referred to was part of the airport.
