Preliminary Patent, Trademark & Copyright Research
Do you have a new invention, product, or service? The first step to developing your idea is to check existing intellectual property -- patents, trademarks, copyrights -- to see if what you have invented already exists.

Preliminary searching of U.S. patents, trademarks, and copyrights is something you can do for free on the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and U.S. Copyright Office Web sites.
