We are thinking about getting a new Subaru since my old car is about to go.
There is only one dealer in the area and one of our concerns is finding a mechanic or garage that is good and has experience with Subaru's.
Does anyone have a Subaru and where do you go for maintenance and repairs?
What do you think of the dealer service center and do you have to go there to keep up your warranty?
What about an experienced garage and knows Japanese vehicles?

Any help would be appreciated.

I go to my garage for repairs and maintenance so I can't really address your concerns though.

Check out the Oklahoma Scooby board: http://oksc.org/

I know a couple guys that have been into the Subaru scene for a long time so I could ask around on a shop to send ya too, assuming you're in T-Town.

Yep, T-Town.
Any info would be appreciated.

I cross posted your thread over on OKSC, I'll letcha know what they say.  It takes forever and a day for Ben to activate new members.

"Well, if they are getting a new Subaru, they don't have too much to worry about for at least 3 years (warranty)."

"Powertrain 5 years or 60,000 miles"

"They can always purchase a Subaru Added Protection warranty and/or Maintenance program.
Have 'em call Dr. Paco at (405)364-2000 and I can help 'em with some of their concerns"
