I also happen to have skin allergies to pine needles, and yes, I hate getting tree sap on my hands!  It sucked having little red bumps up and down my arms after decorating and after tear-down.  FWIW, one of my drunk friends set a spent tree on fire at my curb, it did not happen in the house, and no, the neighbors were not amused, though I have to admit the burned out hulk was the perfect marker of a "successful" holiday party the next morning.

I'll stick to my fake tree.

I worked for my uncle when I was in high school every winter setting up the tree lot he owned at 73rd & Memorial.  Hard work.  Used auger drills to make the holes we'd set the trees in, but by far, the toughest work, was unloading the three tractor-trailers full of trees the day after Thanksgiving.  I got paid pretty well for the mid 80's (5.00 an hour when you're sixteen and seventeen when the minimum wage was 3.35 seemed like a lot).

Thank you for the recommendations.  I ended up going to the lot on 31st Street just west of Memorial (actually, just west of I-44).  It's also run by Southwest Nursery.  They have an excellent selection of trees.  I got a beautiful tree, and the staff were very, very helpful.  Thank you for the suggestion-it was excellent!
