Hate to see that. We ate there several times and the food/service were always good.

I can't comment on the quality of the food and service, I looked at the menu for the BA location, and some of the prices seemed in-line, but some seemed high. Maybe they tried to balance the costs hoping they could sell enough food in the mid to high low price to compensate for the upper end prices, and it didn't quite work. I looked into trying to develop a resteraunt/bar in the early 90's and learned that to help sustain the business you need to make your money off of the bar to support the food. And if you can't make the price and quality right on the food, it won't sustain itself. Jim Saied taught me that. I think, just my $.02, is that with shows like Diners, Drive Ins And Dives, and Man vs Food, people are looking more for the local place, that's been doing it well for some time. I have read the comments about Jamil's since they moved, both positve and negative, and about Bodeans, and some other local places that people go on about, and when I get a chance to get back to Tulsa, I'd rather spend my money in local places. I have been in AZ for 12 years and traveled NV, CA, and OR, and every where I go I always ask "Where do the locals go to eat?" One of the best was a German place in Fresno, CA called "The Hoffbrau" right next to where I was staying. Another was a small Italian Deli in San Jose the former Mrs.dback found as we were driving down the street.

Anway, long story short, I think a lot of people are looking to spend their money with a local owner, instead of a regional or national franchise.

Just my $.02, sorry for being long winded.

That's too bad!  I always liked that restaurant.
Where did you see the restaurant was closing?

A co-worker of mine is on their email list and said he received an email stating something similar.

I always thought they seemed pretty busy.   Maybe that was the crowd at Ted's.

I got an email from Leon's a month ago saying they would be opening a second location in Copelands old building in BA. That gave me the feeling Copelands may be closing.

Interesting....

we vs us

If you picked them up and moved them a mile east, they'd be going gangbusters.

Location, location, location.

At least it sounds like they have something to fill the space so it doesn't sit there empty.
