Trail Mile Markers

Yep, I seen those new trail markers Sunday when I went for a run they are indeed cement circles buried in the trail pavement with a green and blue leaf painted on the marker and a white mile number below it. I wonder how long it will take till the markings fade off? I noticed they have those $5,000 lamp posts ever 80 feet of so along the trail, IMO  that seems like a huge waste of money.
