Maybe I'm misremembering, but I recall stating here that I wasn't particularly a fan of that bill, only that it is a reasonably good start more in the "better than nothing" category. You might want to check Google News. The big banks are pretty upset at what came out of Dodd's committee, and are more than a little upset about the direction Blanche is going.

The two situations, at least thus far, don't seem comparable.
