I am at a real standstill.  I have been living in University Club Towers for 5 years.  Great place no issues.  But now I have a life changing event that can happen as I occasionally take care of a large dog and University Club Towers does not allow pets.  I do travel a lot for vacations mostly on weekends but also sometimes take extended trips as well.  My work schedule is Monday - Thursdays.  The dog weighs about 50 lbs - 60 lbs.  I have no trouble puttting stuff in storage if I have to and live in decent hotel rooms if I have to during the work week cause I tend to travel almost every single weekend.  Any ideas.  The dog would notbe with me full time necessarily.  I dont know of any apartments that take large dogs.  Houses?

Buy a condo and get a dog-sitter for when you travel, that would at least alleviate the issue of yard work.  Unfortunately, unless you are in the military, you just missed out on the first time homebuyer credit which you would have been elligible for since you've rented for the last five years.  I'm a huge advocate for homeownership but understand it doesn't match everyone's lifestyle especially if you travel a lot.

If you want to stick with apartments, a friend of mine used to live at Barcelona at 51st & Yale and they do take pets.  I just hate to think of a large animal like that cooped up all day in an apartment.
