Wood Window Repair Workshops this weekend

If you have an older home with wood windows, you've probably considered replacing the windows.  Consider this instead:

Tulsa Preservation Commission hosting Wood Window Workshops on April 20 & 21  (There are still a couple spots open for both classes.)

The Tulsa Preservation Commission is hosting two workshops this weekend with Master Carpenter, Bob Yapp, on wood window restoration for contractors, homeowners and anyone interested.

The first workshop will be held for homeowners on Friday, April 20. The second workshop will be a more advanced class for contractors on Saturday, April 21. Both workshops will be held from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. at an historic home in the Swan Lake Neighborhood.

Both workshops will be hands-on classes that teach individuals how to make existing wood windows look great, function beautifully and save energy through weatherization. Master Carpenter, Bob Yapp will show all the skills in order for individuals to repair wood windows and keep the historic character of a home.

Tulsa has 1,500 homes in Historic Preservation Zoning districts and thousands more with original wooden windows. Many Tulsans are finding that weatherizing a home's historic wooden windows is far more environmentally responsible than wholesale replacement.

The workshop will be filled on a first come, first served basis. Advanced registration is required and there is a $25 registration fee. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
