I asked my optometrist about Lasik today.  I'm a great candidate but he wanted $3,500 and that only covered 2 years of checkups.

I've read online that the average is ~$3k and that provides free lifetime checkups, otherwise it's around $1,500 for a 1 time zap.

Anyone been thru this lately and comparison shopped?

TIA

Triad did my eyes in '99, and it was great for 10-11 years until my eyes changed.
I dont think there's any such "lifetime" guarantee" and I was billed for my most recent exam.
It was probably worth a decade of not having to wear glasses, though.

I think I will just stick with glasses.  Just don't trust all that electronic gadgetry.  Too much like ATM's to me.

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

I don't like the idea that they have lifetime touch ups.  Etc. Etc.  I don't want my eyes messed with multiple times that has a small percentage chance to leave me worse off or blind.

Wife did TLC back 5-6 years ago and has free lifetime touchups.   Hasn't needed them yet.
