Top leaders in the Senate say they have reached a deal on freezing student loan rates for another year, though they are still deciding the mechanics for how the proposal should make its way through the legislature before Congress leaves Washington for the week-long July 4 holiday.

Now, I don't know about the rest of you, but I get July 4th off...a single day...not a week.

I get the next two weeks off.  But I haven't really had a real vacation in a while.  When you have 5 weeks of vacation time you need to use by October 1, you start doubling up on it.

The entire unionized boiler industry in Pennsylvania shuts down for two to three weeks this time every year depending on the manufacturer.  Really not bad timing for them, it's hot in the plants and gives them a rest before the rush for new fall and winter boiler orders.  Kind of a PITA for my customers who need a boiler about now though if they don't plan well enough ahead.
