Ok, here is what I am needing. I need the average interest rates on Certificate of Deposits with 1-year maturities that were issued between 1984 and 1989. I know some of you are pretty handy with the charts so I thought I would ask.

I have found similar data for 6-month maturities on the Federal Reserve website, but I really need the 1-year data. Also, FRED told me they don't track that far back. Any help would be appreciated.

If the WSJ published a rate for that, ProQuest has back issues to 1984. It's accessible through many library websites if you have a library card.

Don't compare them to current rates, lest you may need therapy.

I don't remember the exact years, but I had two small CD's for a while.  One paid 7% and the other 9% - they were purchased about 6 months or so apart.  It was sometime in the early 80's I think....possibly before '84, though.

Wouldn't even mess with one today.  Just put the money in a mattress and will end up ahead of the game....

Just curious... special project??
