Do you guys remember UHF? I had thought it was a forgotten movie, but I came to realize that there are a number of people who loved the movie (people in Kentucky know and love it). What shocked me the most is that it was filmed in Tulsa... http://tulsatvmemories.com/uhf.html .... Now I know that other movies (such as The Outsiders) were made here, but I believe Tulsa really needs to bring the movies back. Enough with the eighties!!!

Circle Cinema are selling tickets to a 7:00 P.M. showing of "UHF" September 24. For the 25th anniversary of the film. Weird Al will also be there signing his children's book. "My new Teacher and Me!"

I plan on getting my tickets today if any are still available. 10 dollars for the screening. I'm just not to sure how many people the theater holds.

Whoa,  I didn't know about the screening.
Just ordered a tic online

I knew he was going to be @ the Brady in Oct while I'm out of town.

If you haven't watched the UHF DVD with Weird Al's commentary, it's a much watch & listen.
He highlights many of the filming locations used throughout town and is entertaining it it's own right.

Edit:  Also, Weird Al will be doing a book signing.  I've never done such a thing.   Do they want you to buy the book there?  They frown upon bringing a copy?  Need to bring own copy?

I'm not sure but Sundrey's is helping sponsor the event. I plan on printing out the movie poster and getting him to sign it. The signing starts at 4 p.m.

I've been to a few book signings.  You can purchase what the author is currently selling (in this case, his new children's book), or you can bring something of his you've purchased before.  It should be an entertaining evening.

That link with Tulsa memories is interesting, the one air shot of the Admiral Twin showed my house way back when, but it was hard to make out any details dunno the year of the picture but  my house was built in 1953. Is there any pictures around of the early Admiral Twin that show surrounding areas

Last night was a fun time for all. Al sat and signed from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. right up to the start of the movie. It was shown on all three theaters. The Q&A was great too. Al was first. Then the Producer and the Director took questions.

I was oh so close to getting the Twinkie Dog that is featured in the movie. It was just 3 Dollars. What a deal.

I have never been to the Circle Cinema. I like it. Kinda hipster but thats ok.  8)
