I kind of hate to start a new thread, but none available seem quite right....some may think I am a big Obama fan, when that really isn't true very much...he has done some things that are good, and some that are bad, so he is kind of like the rest of them.  Probably slightly more positive than negative.

Besides his SO wrong-headedness on gun control, he has a couple of other MAJOR bone-head areas that are just flat out stupid.  And there are others...  One was the lack of co-jones to let the Bush tax cuts lapse - a long proven economic mistake.  Affordable Care Act was a good one.

Another HUGE one was his putting the missile defense system for Poland on hold.  I can see that people do believe that Russia has somehow become more benign over the last couple of decades - what I cannot see if HOW they could be so stupid as to believe that!  And this is from people I know who are LWRE AND RWRE!!!  I call it "Brains-Of-Mush" syndrome!  Anyway, this is a pretty good explanation of just how ignorant it was to stop the Polish help and a quick overview of the situation.  Consequences should be intuitively obvious to the most casual observer, but since they obviously aren't, even to the highest level of our gubmint, I will explicitly state one - it will help Russia - Putin - with his efforts to re-assemble the Soviet Union.  And that is not good for US!!   Hopefully everyone does at least understand that one!

I don't share my thoughts because I think it will change the minds of people who think differently.  I share my thoughts to show the people who already think like me that they are not alone.

Bush gets plenty of donkey-kicking on his foreign policy, some of it deservedly so.

Obama's problem with foreign policy is that it's tepid.  He doesn't seem to be overly engaged in it and he's delegated the vast majority to that mealy-mouthed John Kerry.  Leon Panetta seems to get more behind-the-scenes credit for actually over-seeing the Bin Laden operation than Obama does.  I simply think foreign policy is just an annoying part of the job that Obama would rather not have to deal with so he generally doesn't unless he's forced to.
