The mayor has announced a plan to create a permanent funding source in the interest of public safety, and to that end, has put together a public safety task force. What's the smartest way to invest that money?

At the 2014 Pro Walk Pro Bike Pro Place Conference, the mayors of Philadelphia, Memphis, Pittsburgh, and Morgantown, WV came together to offer that creating safer conditions for biking and walking has just as much impact to increase public safety, and at the same time creates many other benefits such as bridging social divides, increased health, increased recreation and morale, sustainability, and economic growth.

On Oct. 14th, Tulsa will hold its own "Walkability Summit" with keynote speakers Charles Marohn of Strong Towns and Ian Carlton from the OU Institute for Quality Communities. At our Oct 1st meeting, we'll hear from representatives from INCOG about the latest developments regarding the Bike/Pedestrian Master Plan, and we'll talk about how investments in these types of transportation can not only increase public safety, but be a better investment of public funds that creates a better city for all.

You're invited!
Please join us Wed. Oct. 1st, 5:30pm
at Foolish Things Coffee Company.

I can't make the Oct. 14 meeting, but really appreciate what TN is doing with it's public forums.  Keep up the great work, these are a great asset for Tulsa and I'm always impressed with the turn out.
