Cocoa needs a home

The neighbors in the rent house next door got evicted, and left Cocoa to fend for herself.  We have been feeding her, but times are tough and we can't take on another animal (we have the city of Tulsa max of three anyhow).  If you or someone you know can take care of this poor pup, please email me.  She is about a year old and is very sweet, if a little skittish.

You are a very good person.
Not everybody would even bother.
You are to be commended, Wish I could help.
I have just adopted a stray cat at my house for the last month.
Three days ago I finally got to touch him. Very skiddish and afraid of people.

It shouldn't be a commendable effort to have the well being of another living creature in mind, it should be standard.  I posted here hoping that someone would be willing to take her in so I didn't have to leave her future up to such uncertainties that go along with rescue groups.

Hopefully the rescues are associated with no kill shelters. Out here the rescue orgs, SPCA, and the county can't keep up with the abandoned pets from cats and dogs to horses. We took in a stray a while back but could not keep it. We went to the AZSPCA and were met at the door with signs that read "If you are dropping off a pet, it WILL BE EUTHINIZED!" because of people that have walked away from there homes and left the pets behind. This guy that we found was fortunate since he was a true stray and had been injured in a fight. We found out about three weeks later that he was adopted.

I wish you luck in this, you are doing the right thing.

I can see why you might be untrusting of animal control departments; here's recent video of an incident where the dog catcher and police lost patience with a boxer that jumped his masters fence while the owner was sleeping:
