Beginning October 1, Gilcrease Museum will be hosting two great exhibits relating to the development and progression of the United States. "Mount Vernon in Miniature" exhibits a replica of our first president's estate in Virginia as well as several archives and works from the Gilcrease collection including a copy of the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of the Confederation, and paintings by John James Audubon and Benjamin West. Also on exhibit will be "American Spirit" a collection of photographs and prints from the A.G. Edwards Corporate Collection. Included in this great exhibit of works starting around the beginning of the 20th Century are pieces by Alfred Stieglitz, Eudora Weltey, Roy Lichtenstein and Andy Warhol. The show runs through February 26 of next year.
