What do you think of carpet baggers and how would you define a carpet bagger?

I would define a carpet bagger as some career minded politician who runs for offices in states he or she does not live in or a politician who changes their residency and lives at a city or district for a few years just so they can run for office. They do this because they can't get elected in their home state/district and they want a career in politics.I beleave these types of politicians are more likely to kiss the donkey of big business and special interest instead of kissing the asses of us the tax payers/voters.

It is my belief that politicians should be kissing the donkey of the taxpayers/voters instead of big business/special interest groups.

Why should someone represent a district, city, state they do not live in?We do not allow foreigners to run for presidential races and have made a law against it,so shouldn't the same thing apply at the local area?I am not saying that someone has to be actually born in that area that they are trying to run for office in.I am just saying that there should be some strict residential requirements if someone wants to run for council man, mayor and so on.
