Bruce's Truck Stop - What Happened to Renovation?

As I recall there was a story in 2005 that the former Bruce's Truck Stop along I-44 was going to be rebuilt and opened by some local investors.
It seemed there was some construction activity and then it appeared to stop.
Does anyone know what happened or is happening?
