I don't know if they allow this type of question, but I've noticed a lot of knowledgeable, creative people on this forum and I'd like your input.
Recently I had a new main sewer line put in (at a cost of $$$$$ and more $$$$$). As a result of the work, the contractors had to destroy the existing facade at our front entryway. Rather than pay the $1000 to have it rebuilt, I did it myself over the weekend. Instead of using brick, which is fairly expensive and hard to match against my existing 35 year old brick, I used cinder blocks and pavestones. What you see below is the framework of the new facade. My goal is to detail the outside of this skeleton to match up with my house as closely as possible. My questions are as follows:

1) Should I color the framework in a similar color as the brick, or go with (perhaps) white?

2) What could I use to cover the framework of the new facade; stucco or some polymer based material?

3) I'd like to put some kind of design between the two columns, like some sort of metal or plastic craftwork that would be unique. It would also need to be something that I could craft myself. Any suggestions?

Below is a picture of the work. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.
